US insurance rules, enforced on everything AI says.
Fifty state rulebooks, the NAIC models behind them, and your own policies. One verdict on every message, before it ships.

What This Area Covers
Insurance in the US is regulated state by state. Each state's department of insurance licenses carriers and producers and polices how policies are sold and described. The NAIC writes model laws and regulations that most states adopt, which is why the same requirements show up from state to state with local variations. Recent model guidance also covers how insurers use AI.
For communications, the rules come down to a few things. A policy cannot be misrepresented in terms of what it covers, costs, or guarantees. Advertising for life, annuity, accident, and health products has to meet specific content and disclosure standards. Annuity recommendations have to be in the consumer's best interest. Claims communications have to be prompt and fair. And where an insurer uses AI to generate or assist those communications, state bulletins now expect governance, testing, and accountability for the output.
